Gas Grill Options: A Review of Different Types of Gas Grills and Installation Options

By

There are many different types of gas grill available on the market these days, so it is not always easy choosing the right one for you. However, it seems the quality of the grills is getting better and more affordable.

Spending a fortune on a high end gas grill is no longer necessary to ensure you have a contraption that makes great burgers, chicken, sausages and numerous other culinary delights. It needs to look good though as it is part of the furniture, whether you use an indoor grill or an outdoor gas grill in the back yard.

Gas Grill Options

Gas grills usually use either a propane or natural gas cylinder as their fuel source. The gas flame is used to either heat the food directly or through grilling elements, which radiate the heat necessary to cook the food. The sizes of gas grill available vary greatly. For example the small ones can be used to cook a single steak, while the much larger ones used in professional kitchens can cook meat for a hundred or more people at one time.

Whether you decide to use a natural gas grill or a propane gas grill, you can create some delicious meals for the family or friends. They both work equally as well as each other, but it is possible to convert grills from one gas source to another. Nowadays manufacturers are also adding infrared radiant burners to the back of the grill burner.

The infrared radiant burner gives the grill an even heat and is meant to be used with a horizontal rotisserie. This is great for cooking a whole chicken, pork loin or beef, which would be placed on a skewer and rotated by an electric motor. Other types of grill are flattops, which cooks food on a griddle surface and doesn’t expose food direct to a flame.

Cooking Outside

On a beautiful summer’s day there is nothing nicer than inviting a few friends around for some drinks and good food in the back yard. This can be made so much easier by having an outdoor gas grill. For rather than hopping back and forth to the kitchen, you can do all your cooking outside on the gas grill.

Many gas grills these days are designed as carts with the grill unit attached to a wheeled frame that holds the fuel cylinder. Having a portable grill makes life so much easier as it can be positioned wherever you want it to be, including outdoors. The cart also supports side tables and other accessories.

With an outdoor grill it is probably desirable to buy one of the durable stainless steel ones. While it is unlikely that you will leave the gas grill out in the open day and night, the stainless steel models will last much longer and look much better than the cheaper alternatives. However, whatever choice you make you should have great fun cooking outdoors while entertaining friends and family.
